Our Mission

Medular was established in 2021 after we spotted a gap in the market for a dedicated offsite manufacturing facility specialising in modular buildings for the healthcare sector.
We have combined the expertise of a number of key partners including Imaging Matters, Young Site Services and MServ to offer a bespoke, all-encompassing service.
This was in response to a rise in demand for offsite manufactured modular buildings, fuelled in part by a lack of sufficient or suitable space in hospitals or healthcare facilities, and the fact that this construction method is the least disruptive to patient services.
We are the only modular company in the UK specialising in this arena and our structures accommodate CT scanners, MRI scanners and X-ray machines and can be used as community diagnostic centres.
These centres can help to increase the number of patients screened in the community and spot early warning signs of illnesses or conditions – and we feel passionately about playing our small part in helping to improve patient access to life-saving diagnostics.
Established in 2011 by Andy and Dave Young, Young Site Services provide joinery and modular installation services within the modular building sector. They work with Medular to construct and install all of our buildings.
Graeme Oldfield formed MServ in 2010 to offer contractor and consultant services alongside a number of modular contractors. MServ provides the project management service for Medular as well as working closely with clients to forge strong long-term relationships and repeat business.
Providing specialist diagnostic services to the NHS and independent healthcare sector, Imaging Matters is owned by two of our shareholders Leigh Melville and Nick Carter.
Andy is a Director at Medular and is responsible for the factory operations of the offsite buildings. He has more than 25 years’ experience within the offside construction sector both on the tools side and in managerial roles.
He has been part owner of Young Site Services since 2011 and has worked on a wide range of prestigious projects throughout the UK.
Outside of work, Andy enjoys holidays with his family, playing golf, football, tennis and squash, and going out with friends.
Dave started building timber modular buildings in the late 1980s to the now more structural steel modulars so has seen the many changes over the years, then in 2011 formed Young Site Services Ltd with his younger brother Andy, they developed Young Site Services into a successful and well-respected joinery contractor specialising in the installation and site fitout of modular buildings for most of the key players, working all across the UK. Dave also runs the factory and looks after supplier payments, staff recruitment and general activities. In his spare time Dave likes to watch rugby, boating on the Norfolk broads and camping.
Graeme is a Director at Medular and works closely with clients from the pre-award stage right through the design and construction phase and onto after-sales. He ensures that Medular’s understanding of the client’s requirements matches their expectations.
His role includes commercial management, contractor selection, client management and an overall responsibility for the site-based construction activities. He has more than 25 years’ experience working in the off-site sector and has been involved in the installation of modular buildings in GCHQ and Downing Street.
Graeme is a family man with 2 grown up children and outside of work he enjoys watching football with his son, and where possible unwinding in Anglesey with his wife and dogs.
Leigh is a Director at Medular. Through Imaging Matters Ltd, Leigh delivers innovative diagnostics solutions from design to build.
Leigh has spent his career in the service industry, in both finance and operations, and has developed an in-depth understanding of end-user requirements and the financial challenges facing businesses.
Nick’s passion for healthcare solutions and innovation goes back to the mid 1970s. As a Finance Director in the NHS, he saw his role as improving and disrupting the way healthcare was traditionally delivered.
Since leaving the NHS Nick has delivered healthcare solutions around the world. As a Public Private Partnership (PPP) expert he has been key in delivering cancer care solutions in over 20 countries.
Nick has kept his link to health systems and healthcare design in the UK. He has been lead on a number of critical projects including:
• The successful bid, including design, for an international contractor to deliver the new Oxford Churchill Cancer Centre
• Leading the facility planning – bid and solution – for the independent sector to deliver over 66% of the NHS PET-CT scans
• The health planner for a team delivering over 50 diagnostic projects in the last 5 years
Nick believes the Richards Report will revolutionise the way elective diagnostics are delivered in the UK. He sees the opportunity for community diagnostic centres, properly designed and wrapped in innovation, to deliver a marked step-up in the quality and quantity of NHS diagnostics care.

Working with our partners for end clients such as the NHS and Private Healthcare Providers, our aim is to seamlessly work to provide an armchair ride from initial enquiry, followed by the design and construction process, right through to handover and beyond.
